Healing Episodes
by Dr. K. Parvathi Kumar
Healing is not only a science but also an art. The artistic way to heal deeply touches the heart. The work of healing is a simple, natural and unconditional expression of love. A healer keeps healing the surroundings and he has many ways to heal.
The episodes recorded in the book “Healing Episodes” by Dr K. Parvathi Kumar are narrated in the third person (Saukumarya), since the healing is an impersonal act that happens through him in silence. The narratives inspire and uplift the readers and they are a gift to those who practice healing. Apart from the story narrative, much wisdom is shared and the key to practice is given which is even more valuable.

Episode 9It was in the year 1986.
“My Master instructed that I should join your prayers and meditations for three mornings and three evenings consecutively without fail,” said an aged person to Saukumarya. The person also enquired Saukumarya, “Do you attend to the prayers the next three days at your usual prayer hall which is part of your residence?” Saukumarya nodded in affirmation.
The next three mornings and evenings group prayers and meditations happened. The aged person regularly attended to the prayers. He had been a follower of the Master over three decades and was himself a well-known healer. He healed many over years, dispassionately and was well respected in the circles of the Master. He had developed a sickness of the stomach and digestive system. He prayed for himself, but nothing happened. The Master instructed him to join prayers that Saukumarya conducts to get healed. After three days the senior person approached Saukumarya and said, “Thank you. I am healed of my multiple sicknesses of my stomach and digestive system. Since when, do you practice healing through meditation?” Saukumarya smiled and said, “I pray to receive the Grace and Presence of the Master for the group. The Presence fulfils as per the requirement and need of the group members. I do not specifically pray to heal. I also do not pray for my sake. The Master is the Omniscient One, he knows what to do, how to do and when to do, to resolve the disciple's karma. I am glad that you are healed. The healer is the Master. I am just a medium through whom you are addressed and cured.”
The aged person enquired, “I have been doing healing in the name of the Master. For my sickness the Master advised to go to you. You have healed me while I could not heal myself”. Saukumarya said, “I do not ‘do' healing. I let the Presence do its work. It can be healing. It can be yoga or any other adjustment in life. It can also be resolving personal karma. The Presence does what is needed. To invoke the Presence and to align with the Presence is what I attempt. The Presence conducts itself in me and around me. People receive the Presence and feel relieved. I do not even lead the presence. I live in the Presence and let the Presence do whatever it wills. Please understand this. Mediums are mediums. Master is Master. The former should align with the latter so that the latter conducts whatever is to be conducted. Do not try to be a doer. Just Be! Be in the Presence. Let the Presence flow within and around and conduct its work according to the Plan.”
The senior medium understood the subtle correction that Saukumarya was communicating. He gently interrupted and said, “I catch the point. You are a gentle person. Your communication is also gentle. Though I have known you over (many) years, only now I see your impersonal attitude. I think I should learn to drop my ego. I should shift from being a doer to simply ‘Be'. In Be-ness, healing happens better. I thank you”.
Saukumarya said, “Instead of dropping the ego, align the ego. Let Presence fulfil you and flow around.”
The aged person was delighted for receiving the suggestion and left.
